Finikounda
is located in a beautiful sheltered bay built almost at the point where
the wave lap at the shore. It nestles in a lee anchorage opposite the
Islet of Shciza.The seafront is lined with tavernas serving their
freshly caught fish.
Finikounda is famous for the excellent sea and the vilage has a golden
sandy beach with crystal waters ideal for swimming. To the
east is Paradise beach.
Anemomilos beach
to the west of Finikounda is a great beach with a broad stretch of
golden sand and is back by wild sandunes. Also there are many other excellent beaches nearby to explore.Every Year the
Finikounda beaches are awarded the European Blue Flag. Finikounda also offers water sport such
as wind surfing and sailing in the summer season.
There are a lot of interesting places to visit around Finikounda.
Methoni: 15km from Finikounda in the small
town of Methoni you can visit the old castle.
Koroni: 5 km from Finikounda in Koroni there
is the beautiful castle of the city. Koroni is a seaside town with a
lot of tavernas.
Pylos: You can visit the 2 castles of the
city which are in a very good condition and also the ancient Nestor
Palace.
